If there’s one thing you know about me, it’s that I LOVE my hair. I used to be afraid to color my hair, until I discovered AGEbeautiful. I’m proud to be partnering with Zotos AGEbeautiful to share how to shop like a pro for your hair supplies.

I first colored my hair two years ago and I was SO nervous to do it!

Friends knew I was going to do it, and mentioned how lovely and natural it was when they saw me. Other than that, I don’t think I got one double take. I had waited a long time to color my hair. I’ve always loved the deep rich brown with slight red highlights that I have, and I never felt like changing that. Until the day I did. Over time, my hair had become four colors.

I have had blonde and grey hairs under the top layer of my hair for as long as I can remember. I’ve kept my hair super long for over a decade, and the hair on the ends has gotten lighter over time and with sun exposure. A not-nice, two-tone sort of thing. I was sick of it. I was ready for something new for spring. I’m in my 30s and I’ve always had thick and glossy hair. I thought it would break my heart to color it, but the experience was anything but heart-breaking. It was actually pretty fun!

All it took was a trip to Sally Beauty for some awesome supplies, because I wasn’t feeling THIS:

What Is the Selection of Colors?

Sally Hansen hair dye offers over 80 shades, ranging from natural shades like blond or auburn to funky colors like pink and purple. Each shade also comes in different levels of intensity, allowing you to customize your look according to your preferences. Whether you’re looking for bold, vibrant colors or something a bit more subtle, Sally Hansen has you covered.

I have to change the part in my hair to the right because the front left gets little gray hairs. I don’t know if the general population notices them the way I do but they really irk me. Since I love my hair so much, I did a lot of research as to what I’d buy for my hair, and I can’t lie – there were many mishaps along the way. I feel like we’re at a comfortable place right now. AGEbeautiful Anti-Aging Haircolor is available at Sally Beauty, and AGEbeautiful is the first professional haircolor proven to fight all 5 signs of aging hair. The signs are thinning hair, wiry grays, hair turning gray, dryness, and dullness.

And you can be quite young, and still have signs of aging hair!

AGEbeautiful Anti-Aging Haircolor goes beyond gray coverage and replenishes my hair with these anti-aging ingredients: melanin, keratin peptide, and silk protein. The haircolor uses a patented conditioning technology so that my hair feels fuller and silkier, and radiates with shine! And I feel like I have the exact hair I was born with – bold, dark, glossy and thick.

So, what did I do? I shopped like a pro at Sally Beauty!

I needed success, and the right products and tools set me right up at home! So I got my hair color, volume developer, applicator bottle, bowl, brush, comb, cape, gloves, and clips! The staff helped me find my true color – 3N – a very dark brown.

I picked up AGEbeautiful Root Touch Up Spray in Darkest Brown, which is exactly my hair color. This is perfect for in between colorings because you can spray away the gray with this spray – which is a temporary haircolor that quickly and easily conceals your gray roots in seconds. One cool thing about this brand – because I have tried other brands and not been impressed – is that AGEbeautiful Root Touch Up Spray smells good too! I think that’s important to have great smelling hair.

The Root Touch Up Spray is water, sweat and stain resistant and conceals your grays in seconds. The best part is that a little goes a long way and you can layer it on for darker results, which I love.

Treat your colored hair like gold!

Treat your hair like you would your skin! Cover it up from UV rays. If you’re going to be outside for a long period of time, you can wear a sun hat, or look for leave-in treatments by your favorite brand with UV absorbers that filter out the harmful rays.

Feed your hair like a pro!

Vitamins and supplements can help with the health of your color-treated hair. As always, eat a diet rich in Vitamin C to keep blood vessels in the scalp healthy, and eat Biotin (found in salmon, carrots, egg yolks, sardines) to improve hair strength and texture. You can also take supplements when you are lacking vitamins in your diet.
