Kenner Army Health Clinic is a full-service operation for prescriptions from military or civilian providers.
Our mission is to provide world-class pharmaceutical care by promoting optimal drug therapy and enhancing the medication delivery system to maintain medical readiness, and the health of Soldiers, family members, and retirees.
If a medication is not available on Kenner's formulary, you may be able to obtain the medication through theNational TRICARE Mail-Order Pharmacy. Check to ensure your prescriptions are covered through TRICARE by using theTRICARE Formulary Search Toolsite.

TRICARE Formulary Search Tool
Use theTRICARE Formulary Search Toolto look up your drug. A search can tell you:
- Formulary status (generic drug, brand-name drug, non-formulary drug, non-covered drug)
- Where theprescription can be filled
- Copayments and limitations, such asprior authorization
- Coverage review requirements and forms
- Alternative medications, including costs
To start your search, you’ll need to put in the brand name or generic name of the drug and then select the strength prescribed, as well as your gender and age.
Pharmacy Services
Services are available for active duty service members and their families, as well as retirees andtheir family members. The patient's military ID card must be presented each time a service is requested. Children aged 14 years and older are required to have an ID card. The main and refill pharmacy operating hours are Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.; closed on weekends and federal holidays.

Refill Prescription Options
Refilled prescriptions may be picked up by any family member and require the patient’s ID card. The pharmacy has a mandatory call-in refill process. The fully automated refill system is available 24/7 by calling 804-734-9535. Refills should be ordered within seven business days before medication runs out to prevent unintended medication disruptions. Refills are processed within 72 business hours after request. Refills that have not been picked up within 10 days will be returned to stock. A patient request will be required for these medications to be processed again. Medication pick-up reminders will be sent via text or voice to customers that opted in for such notifications.
Self-Care
A limited number of over the counter medications are available to eligible beneficiaries. Please consult with a Kenner pharmacist for your self-care needs.
Prescription Drop-Off Service
Patients are encouraged to drop off their prescriptions or call the pharmacy at 804-734-9535 option 8 to activate new prescriptions. Prescriptions (including electronic and hard copy) can be dropped off and will be ready for pick-up within48 business hours. Medications such as antibiotics or those deemed urgent may be processed and dispensed promptly.Completed drop-off medication orders that have not been picked up within 10 business days will be returned to stock.A patient request will be required for these medications to be processed again. Medication pickup reminders will be sent via text or voice to customers that opted in for such notifications.
Electronic Prescriptions
Off-post physician offices can now choose to electronically send prescriptions to KAHC instead of using paper prescriptions. To take advantage of this service, ask your doctor to electronically send prescriptions to: DoD Ft Lee e-Pharmacy in their electronic pharmacy database.
Prescription Transfer Service
KAHC prescription transfer service is available Monday - Friday during normal business hours. Prescription transfers may be requested at the main pharmacy by calling 804-734-9535 (option 8). Please allow 72 business hours for processing all transfer requests. After the transfer is complete, you'll receive a phone call with instructions to pick up your medication at the refill pharmacy.
Additional Information
Identification procedures: the patient does not need to be present to pick up a prescription. However, their designee must provide the patient's ID card to verify eligibility.
Mail Order Delivery
Patients can have medications mailed directly to their home using the Express-Scripts service. All medications now have a copay for this service.For more information call 1-800-238-6095.
Pharmacy costs are based on whether the prescription is classified as a formulary generic (Tier 1) or formulary brand name (Tier 2) or non-formulary (Tier 3) drug, and where you choose to have your prescription filled.
Military Treatment Facility (MTF) Pharmacy
- $0 copayment for up to a 90-day supply of most medications.
- Not all medications are available at MTF pharmacies. Call first to check availability.
Note: You'll pay more to have prescriptions filled at non-network pharmacies and costs vary depending on your health plan(e.g., TRICARE Prime, TRICARESelect). There is no copay for active duty service members.
Military pharmacies continue to remain the lowest cost pharmacy option for TRICARE beneficiaries, who have the option to get generic and brand-name drugs for $0 copayment.
Home delivery is still an option for certain prescriptions. Please note that certain brand name maintenance medications (long-term medications) can only be filled twice at retail. After two refills, maintenance medications must be filled via home delivery or at a military pharmacy. Acute medications (short-term medications) are available at retail pharmacies.
